Is this the most beautiful place in New Hampshire? Diana's Baths makes a strong case. Join me on this unique photographic journey that I took to this magical and historical. Experience the serenity at a time when most tourists won't.
This article is about my hike to this series of picturesque waterfalls. Enjoy the tour and learn how to take breathtaking photos unlike the others you've seen.
In addition to shooting nature and landscape photography, Diana's Baths also make a great location for photographing your favorite model. The most popular time to do a photo shoot is the warmer months when you can capture the cascading waterfalls, the green foliage, or the autumn colors in the fall.
I photographed this middle-aged woman right after a snowstorm where the lighting was soft and made a good situation for shooting a few portraits.
Diana's Baths is not just a summer destination. While swimming is a popular activity in the summer, Diana's Baths is also beautiful in the Spring, The Fall, and yes, even in the Winter when the waterfalls freeze.
The white of the snow contrasted with the darkness of the water and the rocks and I was glad the sun did not come out and make the scene have too much contrast.
In the photo below, I was intrigued by the shape of this hole in the ice, framed in my the waterfall behind it, and I thought it would make an interesting composition for a photograph.
Like our other trips to the White Mountains of New Hampshire we scheduled a day away from the ski slopes to hike the local trails. In addition to visiting these baths, you'd also enjoy hiking along the Saco River and a more challenging hike in Crawford's Notch. See that post here.
Diana's Baths are just outside of North Conway in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It's easy to get there. It's an easy hike coming in from the north or the south. The most popular place to access the trail to Diana's Bath is from a parking lot of West End Rd.
Use the interactive map below and zoom in and out to get a good feel for the baths and the surrounding area.
This small gallery of images of Diana's Baths is for photo enthusiasts, hikers, nature lovers, and winter wonderland worshippers. I used my Canon RF 24-105mm zoom lens and a Canon R6 Mark II mirrorless camera to take all of the photos featured in this article. See my Favorite Gear Here.
